I pushed the 'reset' button and slipped off before holding it down for 5 flashes. I immediately held down the 'reset' button for 5 flashes and the Nexus Hawk won't restore defaults.
The 'reset' button is software controlled and does not respond to commands while POSTing. After your tool slipped off of the 'reset' button the Nexus Hawk began rebooting. During this time the Nexus Hawk will not respond. To restore the defaults once the Nexus Hawk has finished POSTing hold the 'reset' button down for 5 flashes to begin restoring the factory defaults.

PC has DHCP enabled; Nexus Hawk connected to PC has 'Eth1' port configured statically. Internet is connected to PC through Nexus Hawk's WAN port. DHCP lease expired on the Nexus Hawk causing the PC to lose network connection.
On PC's network settings - TCP/IP settings select the 'Use the following IP address' option. In the IP address enter the first three numbers that are assigned to the Nexus Hawk. In the last box enter any number between 1-254 but not the number that the Nexus Hawk is configured to. Once the DHCP lease is renewed go back to the Nexus Hawk GUI and navigate to the Setup|10/100 Ethernet page. Enable the DHCP server, enter a DHCP range and save configuration. On the PC's network TCP/IP settings reset option to 'Obtain an IP address automatically'.

After restoring defaults from the Nexus Hawk GUI I received a 'The page cannot be displayed' error.
This will happen if you changed your LAN IP address from the default. The restore defaults function will restore the LAN IP back to 192.168.1.1. To view the Nexus Hawk's GUI navigate to the 192.168.1.1 address.

Why are the <Connect> and <Disconnect> buttons disabled on the Cellular WAN configuration page when my cellular card is plugged in?
When both the <Connect> and <Disconnect> buttons are disabled the Nexus Hawk doesn't recognize that a cellular card has been inserted into the card slot. Please follow these steps:

    1. Power-off the Nexus Hawk, unplug the cellular data card, firmly re-insert the cellular data card, power-up the Nexus Hawk.
    2. If the link light on the cellular card fails to blink, it is possible that the cellular card is not functional. Repeat the operation in the other slot (if the Nexus Hawk has multiple slots).

I just unboxed my Nexus Hawk and notice that I am not receiving any GPS data from it.  Why?
Upon the 1st power up of a GPS it will take up to 5 minutes for the GPS to orient itself and find a signal.  It takes that long for the GPS to know where it is on the world landscape.  This is a process that occurs only on initial power-up "from the box" and never again.

Why am I not receiving any GPS data from my Nexus Hawk on a remotely controlled computer?
To view GPS data remotely (through the WAN connection) you must turn on the access to GPS port through an option found on the Administration | Management | WAN configuration page.

I can’t ‘surf the net’, even though I have a data card plugged into the Nexus Hawk
    1. When a data card is functional...but is being used outside of its subscription area, it will get an IP address...but it won't surf.
    2. When a data card is no longer functional (it is no longer provisioned due to non-payment, etc.), it will attempt to connect (twice, it seems) then disconnect itself from the Nexus Hawk.  Here's what you'll see in the management console:
      1. Status: "No WAN", all slots empty
      2. Setup|PCMCIA will show the card properly "discovered" and <connect> button dark (pushable)
        1. If you press <connect> and go to the Status page...
          1. It will attempt to connect twice, then give up, leaving you with the personality shown in (a.) and (b.) above

Why won’t my PC correctly renew my IP address when I change the Hawk’s Eth1 subnet?

        Cause:
Conflict with IP address or conflict within network
      1. Your Hawk is probably plugged into a WAN on which it shares an IP conflict with another WAN-connected device.  Disconnect the Hawk from the WAN prior to attempting to change the Hawk’s Eth1 subnet.
